Zachary Anziska is a private chef with South African roots and a global perspective shaped by time in Singapore, Los Angeles, and New York. With training from New York’s Locanda Verde and a background in brand and storytelling, he’s learned to trust both craft and intuition in the kitchen.

Zachary’s cooking is rustic and seasonal, centered on whole vegetables and nutrient-dense ingredients. His style is vibrant and unfussy, drawing inspiration from Gjelina (Los Angeles) for its produce-driven, California–Mediterranean sensibility; Africola (Adelaide) for its bold, canteen-style cooking steeped in South African influence; and Albi (Washington, DC) for its modern take on Shami food, cooked with fire and soul. Guided by a belief that eating should always be lekker (a South African expression for ‘tasty’).

LEKKER is Zachary’s culinary platform to honor and carry forward his South African roots. What began as a memory project has become the foundation of his cooking.

Based in New York City and taking on projects in the Hamptons, Los Angeles… and of course, Cape Town.
